He Is Risen Indeed!

Happy Easter all! I wish I could say that we were singing Easter songs and focusing on the passion passage in Scripture, yet the Thomas family was in route to KY ALL DAY LONG from a visit in VA with the the grandparents and other family.

A girl after my own heart! Now all she needs to do is learn to open her eyes!



The weekend started as quite a surprise when we arrived a day earlier than Grammy expected, but it was extra time for visiting and playing with Jake.



We had a wonderful time of fellowship, another birthday celebration for little Sonya, and and Easter egg hunt in the freezing cold! Sonya donned Grandpapa's hunting cap, and all ran outside to gather the colorful eggs...except for me and Betsy, the ones with no tolerance for cold weather. Thanks goes to Uncle Jon, who was all too happy to help Sonya and Jake find the hidden eggs filled with all sorts of goodness.




There was a moment on the egg hunt in which it appears she had a God moment of revelation. Hope she shares that with me some day.



Sonya had many jovial conversations with everyone, much to the family's surprise, since she had only been uttering one word phrases the last time they had all seen her. A much different scene, as she carried on and on about shows and animals, singing songs, and asking the current saying,"What you doing here?"

We do have one casualty to report of the vacation. Somehow, somewhere...we lost Mowmow, Sonya's favorite stuffed cat. We searched everywhere for it, and there were many tears shed, mainly mine. We told Sonya when she would ask for him for bed time that he went on a trip like we did, and that he would be back soon. Then I promptly searched EBay for one and it should be here in a few days. Phew! We had a great time, but we are glad to be back in KY, and looking forward to the building of our new fence that will make the yard ready...for the new puppy!
