It's A Boy!
Introducing the newest member of the Thomas family: Doc!
Doc is a six month old blue Doberman Pinscher. We acquired him from a breeder at an extremely reasonable price, compared to the cost for a pound dog and for pure breeds in general. The decision to get a Doby was like coming full circle for me. I had the most wonderful dog growing up, a black and tan Doby named Keeper. Almost all of my childhood memories are filled him watchfully obsrving whatever I was getting into or reluctantly participating in whatever I was getting him into! Best dog. Brandon and I toyed with other breeds that neither of us had had much experience with but just admired. We considered a pound dog, but didn't want to risk a crazed temperment around Sonya. So...the search was on for the perfect Doby. We landed Doc on our second try, and even had him delivered to our house! We had thrown around several names, but were waiting to meet him to decide on one. He was so shy and timid when we first met him, and still is a bit nervous even on his second day with us. But as soon as he met Sonya, we knew. Sonya was so excited to see him, and he perked up the moment he saw her. He gave her a thorough examination, and became quite concerned and clingy to her when he heard her coughing and sneezing, due to her second battle with a cold or flu this season.
That settled it. Doc is our boy. He slept nearly all day this morning under our feet, and he will take some work and some confidence building to get out the kinks and learn the ropes. We are gonna go all Cesar on him, for those of you who know the Dog Whisperer (huge fan!). He has developed a love for Mowmow, snatching him of the chair and hiding him from Sonya. Anyone want to buy us another back up?! Doc's first experiences with cats didn't go as amiably. He and Finn are fighting for my number one baby boy position, but eventually we will all mellow into a happy family.

Finally!! He looks like fun! Like the name. Hope the adjustment goes well.
How sweet! He looks like he will be a good watch dog for Sonya. I can't wait to get back to the States so that we can get a dog. I'm so jealous.
I had 2 dobies growing up. There were awesome! Good choice!
